Keith's Web Sites

I have built quite a few web sites over the years using all sorts of tools and approaches - there are lots of ways to skin the Internet Profits cat! I do not claim to be a web designer and I build my sites to be the most effective marketing tools possible for my target market and promotion methods. This page gives you links to some of my sites as examples of what can be done and I have divided them up into the different business models I use.

E-Commerce sites

I am involved in several businesses that are full-service e-commerce operations, with their own physical products, staff, warehouse and despatch operations. These need a catalog web site with shopping basket, checkout and payment facilities as well as offline order processing and customer history so we can produce despatch document and send the good and provide customer support for any issues that arise. I have used Actinic Catalog software to do this for my sites since 1999 and can recommend it highly. We also use Magento, which is a more complex product but can do some things better than Actinic.

anythinglefthanded new site

www.anythinglefthanded.co.uk
This is a business I have actually owned for more than 20 years and we built the first web site for it in 1999. Since then we have closed our shop and mail order business and it is 100% E-Commerce.

This site is a combination of information pages built using mainly Wordpress and an Actinic shop with all the product and shopping pages. I have applied lots of our marketing techniques to this site and we dominate the market for left-handed products worldwide, with number 1 positions or very near the top for virtually all "left-handed" terms in most major search engines worldwide (on this or our parallel domain anythingleft-handed.co.uk). This is a fresh design with a lot of new features in the shop, including display of video and related content. The site design has been kept deliberately low-key in shades of grey so the pictures and content show better. The information part of the site "Being Left-Handed" has been produced as a Wordpress blog to give a lot more flexibility for posting content, sharing it with others and interacting with visitors.

Rustic Angels www.rusticangels.co.uk
This was an offline homewares and gifts business run by a friend of ours and we are now acting as online marketing partners to build the website and market the business for a share of the income generated. The owner still controls the business, doing purchasing, despatch and customer services and updating product content on the site remotely.
This site also fatures an affiliate shop with thousands of related products from a selection of merchants using product data feeds
Internet Golf Store www.internetgolfstore.co.uk
This e-commerce site was built using Magento which gave better navigation and filtering by products types, brands etc. Section pages have been created for product types and also individual brand / product type combinations to give lots of highly targeted pages for search engine marketing work.
Top Golf Breaks www.topgolfbreaks.co.uk
This golf travel business is a joint venture to promote bookings at top UK and Ireland golf courses. The site is built mainly using Wordpress and allows a lot of pages to be built and maintained by non-technical staff through the browser-based Wordpress interface. In addition to the course content it features a lot of affiliate links for related products.
LooksGorgeous www.looksgorgeous.com
This is another Actinic site based on the Anything Left Handed model to market salon hair products online. It is supported by an integrated Wordpress blog to handle all the extra content we want to add for customer information and marketing - under the Advice and Tips menu item.
Tom Milsom Music www.tmtunes.com
This is a site I built to promote my son's music. It uses a lot of video streaming - some from my own servers using Video Web Wizard and some from YouTube in a custom player from Traffic Geyser.

Information sites

We have built several sites around our left-handed theme to provide information without the shop onsite. This gives us different angles to promote things from (e.g. with the BBC who do not like to promote overtly commercial websites) and allows us to get multiple page 1 listing for some of our target search phrases.

Left Handers' Day

www.lefthandersday.com
This uses a flexible 3-column template allowing us to put information boxes on the right. It also uses the www.websitestranslator.com software to create multi-language translations for all the pages. These are far from perfect, but do allow non-English viewers to see our content and gets us listed in the search engines under lots of foreign language phrases as well.
(the translation software has just been upgraded and is not fully working yet)

Left handed children www.lefthandedchildren.org
This is another information site but built using a simple
based template to push all the text content to the top of the page for search engine spiders.
This site also uses Paypal button to sell downloadable guides - a nice sales as they are fully automated and zero cost! See:

Local marketing sites

Spain Expert

www.jm-properties.co.uk
This site was developed with a local grounds and property maintenance business as a showcase for their work and to give sales pages that Google Adwords local phrases can be targeted at. E.g. we will advertise for the keyword phrase "lawn mowing crawley" (and about 200 other local town names and postcodes in combination with each of the main "service" keywords for the business - many thousands of keyword combinations in total. The site also makes use of video we produced to demonstrate the company's work and make it more personal and friendly. Using these methods we can bring in as many new customers as the business can handle as it grows (2-3 new contracts each month) at very low cost.

Niche content sites

These are sites built to attract visitors for a range of target keywords for a chosen market niche. Once the visitors are on the site they are shown affiliate offers for that niche with links to the merchant websites and also Google Adsense and other adverts that will generate income if clicked.

Spain Expert

www.spainexpert.info
This is a largely "hand built" site using my favourite template. It sells a guide to the Javia / Denia area written by a friend of mine and a Speed Spanish language course I purchased the rights to. It also has lots of affiliate links spread through all the content on the site, including a range of Spanish language courses
www.spainexpert.info/learnspanish.html

This site also features the Niche Video Site Builder software working to produce pages of YouTube videos based on a target keyword or theme. This has been embedded in my template so it looks like part of the site but builds lots of pages quickly and with constantly changing content, e.g. about Spanish Wine
www.spainexpert.info/video/spanishwine/index.php

Bonsai Expert http://www.bonsai-expert.com/
This is a site focused on the bonsai tree niche and is built using HyperVRE which searches for relevant article content on the web based on my target keyword list and builds a page for each keyword. It displays prominent links to the target affiliate site Bonsai Boy of New York as well as related Google Adsense adverts. it also features affiliate links to Clickbank, Amazon and other affiliate products using keywords highlighted in the body text.
Here are some more examples of my sites like this in different niches (some of these are work in progress)
Tips to stop bad breath
How to stop snoring
SPAM and how to stop it

Blogs

Blog software and hosted services have become a great way to build websites and especially ones that have a lot of "news" content and where interaction is required with visitors. My preferred way of building blogs is to use the Wordpress software hosted on our own server and domain.

Tom Milsom, musician

www.tommilsom.com
This is a Wordpress blog I built for my son to promote his music and artwork. It uses page navigation on the left for the "static" content and has a clickable image on the front page to access the various sections.

Affiliate landing pages and framing

A lot of my promotion work is done with Pay Per Click advertising and particularly Google Adwords. I build different landing pages for each keyword group with appropriate content and links to the affiliate programme or sometimes just use a frame that actually displays the affiliate site in a frame within my domain.

Golf Channel

www.golf-channel.org
This uses a template site and some article content but is mainly a vehicle for the landing pages. Here is an example of a page of my content linking to an affiliate offer
www.golf-channel.org/simple-swing/index.html
and here is a page that frames the target affiliate site and uses their content so the visitor can navigate around the merchant site and make a purchase without leaving my domain
www.golf-channel.org/Callaway/index.php

Membership sites

Having a site where people a monthly or annual subscription pay to receive ongoing access to the information and resources on the site can be a great business model.

Keith

www.MyWebMarletingExpert.com/members
This site! A membership site where I am building an e-commerce community and making available all of the expertise, training, software and marketing resources I actually use in my own businesses plus my own guidance on how best to use them.

Using sub-domains

If I am testing a new market I may build a site on a subdomain of one of my domains rather than investing in a separate domain and taking the time to set it up. This allows me to send PPC traffic to the site to see if the affiliate offer converts and if it goes well I may then move it onto its own domain.

You need a good generic domain name to do this that looks credible with various keywords in front of it and is fairly short. I use my domain www.4-u-now.com for this. This can be used with subdomains to give site addresses like http://www.tattoos.4-u-now.com. You don't need the "www" in these addresses and in Google adverts the display address can be shortened to Tattoos.4-U-Now.com which does the job nicely!

Tattoos

Tattoos.4-U-Now.com
This is a "skeleton" site using a simple template and just the minimum content needed to make it look like a "real" site. its main function is as a vehicle for frame pages that show affiliate offers and are the target pages for Google Adwords campaigns, like this
http://www.tattoos.4-u-now.com/main.php

This site also uses some clever php tracking code to make sure the keyword information is from the original Google search is tacked onto the affiliate url so I can analyse sales conversions by keyword to see which keywords are the most profitable and which should be dropped as they are losing money, but that is a whole other story!

Stop Snoring StopSnoring.4-u-now.com
HyperVRE article based content site with affiliate links
Web Video

WebVideo.4-u-now.com
This site is promoting the Video Web Wizard software and has a nice little video of me demonstrating it! it also has other affiliate links and advertising related to web video.

I bought the resale rights to Video Web Wizard so I host the sales page on this site and keep all the income from any sales

Digital products / Reports / Private Label

You can produce your own reports, market other peoples' as an affiliate or purchase a product with the rights to amend and market it as your own (Private Label Rights). A lot of PLR products come with a ready built sales website you can adapt.

Article Marketing

ArticleMarketing.4-u-now.com
This is a single page sales letter selling a download report that I purchased the rights to (the sale page came with the product). All I had to do was edit the page content to personalise it, set up the Paypal payment links and link the download page to the product and bonuses.

When someone purchases from this page I keep all of the sale value.

HomeBusiness.4-U-Now.com
Another site marketing PLR reports and some Clickbank products and using a lot of article content

Product data feeds

Some merchants provide product data feeds for their affiliates and this means that by adding a few lines of code to your pages you can display the whole catalog of the merchant with product images, price etc as well.

Swank Martini

www.martini-glass.com
This is a simple template filled with the merchant's product data feed.

Audio content

If you have any recorded training materials or other content that you have the rights to you can sell it in its own right or divide it into smaller sections for free download or delivery by autoresponder so you get a series of chances to contact people and put your offers in front of them.

Win the love game

www.winthelovegame.com
This site uses a clever public domain multi-tab site template and is targeted at the huge dating market, both selling reports and linking to CPA sites with dating offers (I get paid for each person that enters their email on the target site, without even spending anything).
It is based around an old audio training tape that I have the publishing rights for, all about how to find, attract and keep the right partner. I divided it up into 8 sections and indexed it for download with an autoresponder series of emails, each of which reminds the visitor of the offers available the site.

Adsense template sites

There are loads of template sites marketed online that have a basic layout and images you can edit to include your own adsense code or other affiliate offers. These are quick and easy to build but may have similar content to lots of other people with the same template so you do need to customise them a bit. They are a good way to test a market niche and, if it is profitable, it is then worth more time spent on building a better site.

Work at home Work at home

These are just examples of the type of sites you can build for various business models and there are many more ways of doing it.

I have personally developed and marketed all these sites and I hope they give you some confidence that I might know what I am talking about!
